Looks like it's time for another blog update. So, after about four hours of waiting for the Study Abroad website to finally regain some consciousness I was finally able to look at the status of my application. As the title suggests at the very bottom there was a small section that simply said "Status: Accepted" So it looks like this is it, all that's left is a few more forms, clicking the big "COMMIT" button and oh yeah, a plane ticket. Freiburg inches closer and closer everyday and this was just another step that made me want to go even more. The day I have those tickets in my hand is going to be amazing.
In regards to the future of this blog, I've decided that I'm going to cover as many interesting bases as I can. Everything from food to travel, to history, to people. I want to learn everything I can and assimilate into the German culture. I'm going to master the language and get the most out of this whole thing.
So after all is said and done this blog should be great, at least for me. Documenting my experience abroad has been a goal since I first thought of traveling back in high school. It's all come down to this and when the day comes that I am finally going I can't imagine the feeling of looking back and simply saying:
"Tschüss Amerika!"

Warum ich bin schreibe (Why I'm writing)
The time has finally come to release upon the world the Germany Blog. My idea I've had for months is finally coming to fruition. I've told a bunch of people that I would be doing this yet I never knew when the right time would be to start. I figured that, after today, when I finally handed in the last of my documents needed to get access to the final application to Uni Freiburg, would be a good time to start. The hardcore blogging isn't going to begin until probably a few days before the trip, or whenever I get plane tickets. My goal for this blog is simple: I want to keep a record, any record, of my trip to Freiburg. I plan on writing as much as possible while I'm over there in Deutschland. I want to keep track of the places I go, the people I meet, the food I eat. Anything and everything that seems mildly important to me should probably go into some form of writing and I felt why not make a blog out of it all.
This short intro probably won't be followed by much until things start happening, i.e application goes through, I get the go ahead, I get tickets, that kind of stuff. So until then, I'll stay here waiting. Waiting to finally be "Ein Fremd in einem anderen Land" (A stranger in another country)
